'Het is een prachtig kasteel,passend smaakvol ingericht en we hadden een luxe kamer, maar een vreselijk slecht matras waar je de spiralen duidelijk voelde. Het ontbijt was erg duur in vergelijking met wat je kreeg. Als ze zouden investeren in goede matrassen zou het hotel van mij een dikke negen krijgen'

'We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a castle. Staff were very friendly and professional . There was a selection of two menus for dinner. The more casual menu had steak and ale pie which was exceptional and a generous portion size. The hotel is conveniently located to visit Hadrian's Wall and the Roman History Museum. It is also not far from Hexham Abbey. It is a rare experience to visit a 7th century church. Don’t forget to take the tour of the castle offered daily to guests. If you are...

'Great facility with surroundings. If you travel with car its not far from Uppsala, Arlanda or Stockholm. God alternative to hotels more close to the city. Beutiful park for walking and running. Interaction with cows along the pathway.'

'El castillo es autentico del Siglo XIII, y como tal tiene sus escaleras angostas y obviamente no tiene ascensor, aunque se ha intentado poner rampas. Curro, el Comendador es fantastico, conocedor profundo de la historia de España y de la zona. Hace una visita guiada por las estancias, con interpretacion, humor y correlaciones historicas, que "enganchan" la atencion. Imperdible. Venir al Castillo es aportar un granito de srena a revitalizar estos pequeños pueblos de España.'
