Geniet van dit zoete huis in Albany met terras en tuin om te ontspannen. In een rustige straat, maar toch dicht bij restaurants, winkels en openbaar vervoer. Ongeveer 1 mijl naar BART N. Berkeley en University Avenue in Berkeley, 5 minuten lopen naar Solano Avenue voor een hele reeks restaurants en winkels, 5 minuten naar de snelweg, 30 minuten naar San Francisco. Tal van goedkope supermarkt en andere winkels in de buurt, gemakkelijk parkeren op straat, mooie en rustige buurt met veel jonge mensen rond.

Dit charmante huis in Albany verwelkomt reizigers, avonturiers, studenten, zakenmensen, sollicitatiegesprekers etc. Het huis is een slaapkamer met twee slaapkamers, in een rustige straat, met terras en tuin om te ontspannen. Het huis krijgt de hele dag zon - 's ochtends in het voorste gedeelte en' s middags in het achterste gedeelte op het dek. De kamers zijn goed formaat, met hardhouten vloeren; pas geschilderd; Het huis heeft veel ruimte en extra bergruimte indien nodig. WELKOM!

Johnny’s house was indeed quiet and restful! It is simple and basic but actually exceeded our expectations of what that might mean. The property is older and shows wear, with all the quirks of a vintage home. Indoor spaces and the balcony were freshly cleaned; the porch had lots of leaves from the massive tree out front. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable, with great restaurants just a block away. It feels like you are staying over at the home of a friend or relative, very much in character with the Berkeley vibe. Be advised that the single-car driveway is VERY narrow. The only mirror is in the bathroom- guests may want to bring a portable mirror if more than a couple people are staying. We slept well in comfortable beds, with no traffic sounds except the train in the distance. Very much enjoyed the sunshine and birdsong on the balcony. Easy drive back to Cal and all that North Berkeley has to offer.

Property was dated but clean. Check-in was delayed by 1.5 hrs at request of host, Johnny T, but went smoothly otherwise. Communications with host were good using phone or messaging throughout the 3-week stay.Kitchen facilities were adequate, with a large sturdy table, plenty of implements and china, pots and pans.

Difficult Owner - Would not recommend

First the good - location - Price - Clarity, owner communicated that this was an unpretentious place Now on to why this deserves only a 2 stars out of 5 a) The towels were not clean b) The sheets and whole place had a musty smell c) The shower mat needs to be replaced d) There are tears in the linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom e) The front steps were broken and rotted f) The backyard was overgrown These would have been tolerable, however, what made the trip a real headache was the owner - Johnny. First, before arriving he wanted to specifically know who was coming - and it was not enough that it was me and my family - he really wanted to know who was coming (??!!!) - and requested right away that I give him a 5/5 rating ! And then he had to explain the operation of the shower - another doozy. After arrival, he wanted to know when we would be out - so that he could send a repair person for the front steps. After I told him, no work was carried out. What took the cake was him calling at 6.30 am (AM!) - over 4 times, and texting - to remind me to put the trash cans out on Tuesday am!. Seriously, this was already in the "house rules" notes. Do I really need to be contacted about this ? Since then, he has been incessantly texting me - after I informed him that I will not be giving him an excellent rating. The location of the place is very good, however the place is an old place with imperfections - and that would be fine. But the Owner, is very difficult.

Functional place for a couple of weeks

We were renovating our place and needed a place for 2 weeks. The house is cute and functional. It is a bit older (feels like my older aunts house), but everything worked in perfect order (kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, bath, etc). Easy parking generally on the street and a small driveway to park off street if you can be careful (we were able to get our mini van in there with a bit of careful maneuvering). Great location- lots of amazing food around the corner, super convenient to university village shopping block. Will stay again if we are in a similar situation and need something for a longish stay.

Good home base

I spent several days staying at Johnny T’s Vrbo house in Albany, and it was a relaxing experience. It wouldn’t be considered comparable to a fancy hotel, but is quite comfortable with a lovely little back yard and deck. It’s a good home base if the objective is to explore the general area, and there are many restaurants nearby, as well as grocery stores if you want to cook. Johnny T. is an excellent host and was very responsive to any questions or requests that I had. Also, a difference from my own neighborhood, the block is quiet and there is always parking. I recommend it.

Great location, comfortable house at a good price

The house is old but everything works well. It is well equipped. I stayed there with my wife and three children for 4 weeks. The house is very well located. Close to a supermarket and close to Solano Ave where you can find a lots of nice local shops. The owner is very friendly and it was very easy to communicate with him. It is easy to get to San Francisco with the BART even if it takes more time than with a car. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Thank you Johnny !

Great location

My mother and I stayed here for about a month in October of 2022. The house was comfortable, if a bit musty, and everything was in good repair. The bedding was clean and fresh, the water was hot, and the backyard deck/garden was very nice to sit at for breakfast. There are three grocery stores within walking distance (Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Safeway), Solano avenue is nearby and has some excellent food, and the 72 bus is 2 blocks away, which you can take down to Oakland or to the BART which will take you into SF proper. The house is also only two blocks away from the Greenway, a paved trail that proceeds under the elevated BART line and eventually diverges as as you walk towards downtown berkely, winding through neighborhoods and parks. Lastly, if you are renting a car, there is a large nature reserve perhaps 20-25 minutes away where you can hike amongst some (admittedly smaller) redwoods and in and out of canyons.

A great location.

While on a 10 week work assignment, three of us stayed at this house. While not luxurious, the home was clean and comfortable. It has a fully equipped kitchen and we were able to prepare meals when time permitted. The home is in a great location, only a couple of minutes away from from I-80/580 allowing quick access to San Francisco. Also Solano Avenue is nearby where you can find all the great restaurants that Albany and Berkeley have to offer. Parking was also not a problem and we had 3 cars. We would definitely stay again.

Humble dwelling in quiet residential neighbourhood

I enjoyed my stay here. The house is not very modern/luxurious, but this was openly communicated in advance. The place is clean and spacious (2 bedrooms with a bathroom in between accessible via both, plus a large kitchen and a living room/office space). Especially the deck/garden in the back of the house is a nice touch. The place is close to Albany beach (5-10 min biking) and it takes about 20-25mins by bike to UC Berkeley and there's a supermarket on the main road just a few minutes walk away, plus a couple of nice restaurants/food trucks nearby. I did not meet the host Johnny in person (we were both busy and missed each other a few times), but we spoke on the phone and Johnny was reachable and helpful in addressing my questions.

Great location, responsive host

We had problems with the place we were supposed to stay and Johnny saved us! He responded within minutes and allowed us to move in same-day for a week long stay. As described in the listing, the home is modest and doesn’t have any bells or whistles but is well-maintained and in an awesome location. Johnny left very detailed instructions and information about the house which made for a very easy stay!

Cozy home in a fantastic neighborhood

Cozy peaceful stay on a wonderful & safe family-friendly block within walking distance of great restaurants and the beach at Albany Bulb! It's a stand-alone house with a huge yard, comfortable and well furnished. Wifi was excellent. The owner is friendly and very responsive and friendly and the house has everything you could need!

Fantastic Location and Very Reasonable Pricing

The location was wonderful. We walked to many restaurants on Solano and San Pablo and used the Ohlone Trail (3 blocks east) several times for walking and biking. The host was incredibly responsive. The wifi worked great as we had two adults working and two kids distance learning. We also enjoyed several beautiful sunsets.

Cozy spot in Albany

The property was clean, cozy, and well-located within a nice neighborhood in Albany, within walking distance of grocery stores and restaurants. It was a comfortable fit for a group of three, but I wouldn't recommend it for larger groups than that. The Internet worked well as well as the kitchen and the heating. Overall, not a lot of frills, but made for a very comfortable stay.

This house was very nice and the neighborhood even better. Host responds within minutes to any problems that arise and can tell you about the city and food around there. If you are looking for a clean fun stay this is the spot.
