Timber Valley Cabin Off grid secluded hideaway, about an hour from Denver

Timber Valley Cabin is a cozy and charming cabin that rests at the end of a private 2 mile long meandering driveway.
It's located on an old gold mining claim from the 1930's and is totally surrounded by the Pike National Forest.

The off grid 2bedroom 1bathroom wooden cabin has a covered porch on 2 sides with rocking chairs for your relaxation. From there you can view the valley, listen to birds and the breeze flowing through the forest on the mountain.
The serenity here makes it a perfect spot for artists, photographers and birdwatchers, or just catch up on some reading.

A short hike down the valley will get you to the North Fork of the South Platte river. This is an excellent spot for fly fishing and picnicing. It also has amazing opportunities for pictures.

Stay here to relax and enjoy the quiet, or head out for hikes and mountain biking.
It's 4 miles to Buffalo Creek trail system and you can mountain bike from the cabin there and back.

Come prepared to stay since you probably won't want to leave, that's how we
felt and we're still here. (we live on the property in a separate building)

High clearance vehicles are highly recomended for easy access.

perfect place to get away
This was exactly what my wife needed and was looking for. A beautiful remote cabin in the mountains, great hiking trails right there, centrally located for day trips. We will stay here again. 4X4 is best transportation year round. Bob and Catherine were wonderful hosts.

Quiet & Cozy
While our stay wasn’t long, we enjoyed our time at the Pine cabin! Accessibility is tough, so you’ll definitely want a high clearance vehicle, but the property owners were very helpful and great communicators. The cabin was clean & cozy. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a secluded getaway.

So quiet and peaceful!
This is a wonderfully quiet, secluded property. Gives you the full experience of being in the mountains. The cabin is one of the nicest I've stayed in and the beds were comfortable. The only minor challenge is the drive in - but hey it's the mountains a few bumpy roads, in the back woods are to be expected. You won't be disappointed with the comforts of this place.

Polished, rustic little corner of heaven...
We were looking for a quiet, off the beaten track cabin to unwind and we couldn't have found anything better. While the photos give you a good idea, the cabin is MUCH nicer than we thought. The interior is beautifully restored without compromising the rustic charm of the place. Catherine and her husband Bob really put their heart and soul into the place and it shows. Everything you could ever want in a kitchen, comfortable furnishings throughout, super comfy bed (s) and a bathroom that looks like a 4 star suite...deep in the beautiful Timber Valley. The hike to the Platte River is a beautiful, reasonable trek, and they are working to improve the trail markings. There are several quiet, unique spots to sit and enjoy the property, and wildlife abounds. Bob and Catherine are caring, attentive hosts, while never imposing; and they'll happily give you all the information you need to make your stay perfect for you. As a side note, we were originally turned down for the booking as they were finishing up some last minute details but after a few messages, we were able to arrange the stay. I can't say enough about how kind, responsive and accommodating Bob and Catherine were throughout the process. While they are new to the Vrbo world, I'm sure their genuine concern for their guests' satisfaction will ensure a long, successful tenure as hosts. I would sincerely recommend that you make the effort to share this little corner of Colorado heaven...it's a beautiful place, hosted by genuinely good folks. Thank you Catherine and Bob....we will definitely be back!
