This is a long review but please read!
I wanted to ensure that I submitted this review as I am seeing highly suspect activities on Expedia and feel that Expedia should have a degree of liability to this issue as it is the website that allows vendors to sale their products to the general public.
I stayed at The Fives in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. The Fives is a nice hotel. It is not average and it is not five star…The property is well taken care of, the wait and housekeeping staff are excellent. The amenities are average; pool, restaurants, spa, and lounge areas. They have no business center…
Now readers, I caution you!!! I purchased this resort through Expedia. There was no disclaimer that this property was a timeshare. Correction: “membership.” About three days before my trip, I was contacted by a Fabiola Flores from Epic Center, a travel agency. She informed me that I was required to attend a 90- minute presentation. I immediately knew that this was a sales event. I told her that I was not interested in buying a timeshare or “membership.” She stated that the presentation was mandatory. At this point, I was in no position to cancel my stay as the 24-hour cancellation program that Expedia offers had expired weeks before. This was not indicated on Expedia’s website-at all! I was in a predicament as I detest timeshare sales behavior. Little did I know how aggressive sales tactics have become. Buyer beware, these people are relentless, pushy, and lack professionalism.
