'This is our second stay at this VRBO. Again, well stocked; everything is easily accessible. Considerations are definitely made for guests in mind. Comfortable upstairs bed. Haven't used downstairs bedrooms as our children are in college and have not been able to join us on our past couple trips. Home itself is nice and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Tahoe. We will definitely be back.'

'This location would have been perfect if this was a ski getaway. Since it was not, it was a little far for our purposes. However, the condo was clean, comfortable. The hot tub was a plus! One thing to mention is the stairs leading to the condo may be an issue for some. Overall, the place was nice and hosts were very accommodating. I’d highly recommend for skiers!'

'The cabin is cozy, clean, quiet and conveniently located . My husband and I met our friends that are a family of 4. The bedroom with the queen bed and bunk beds worked perfectly for the friends. 'We had a great time in Kirkwood. Enjoyed having the great room and fireplace. Perfect place to share with a family or two. Great selection of board games! Nothing flash but it all works and house gets cosy quickly - we arrived late and it was cold at first. We loved being able to ski to and from the property to Timber Creek (lots of traversing but doable). The shuttle service is an excellent alternative if you’re not up for this. Liz could not have been more helpful or communicative with us.'

'The house was perfect for what the kids and I needed. It was small and manageable. My only complaint was that I was never given the code to the front door lock so we always had to leave a door unlocked when we went out. It was far enough away from the main town and we enjoyed the hot tub every evening. I would go back!'

'Had a great time at Gary’s place. Terry, the property manager, was very helpful as well. Unfortunately the washing machine broke before our arrival, so we didn’t have access to it during our stay. 'We had a great stay at the property. It had everything we needed to get some comfortable rest and daily hiking. Made breakfast daily and not too far from some restaurants up the road. Spent the first snowy evening in the hot tub and hiked locally the first day. Took a short drive to Fallen Leaf Lake where we hiked the next day. The mountain venue is spectacular!'

'Our son and his friends stayed here as their high school post graduation trip. From talking to them they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Per their feedback, the house was well equipped with various amenities including some basic ingredients like salt, pepper etc to help with cooking. 'Super cute place, quiet and felt safe and comfortable. The owner was super responsive. I couldn’t connect to internet, but that was probably just me. I wasn’t too worried about that since Tahoe is right there. Marla bay is private, so I had to drive to different beaches and couldn’t just walk, but was still super close. And my dog was allowed, so that was key! :)'

Good location, terrible bed, crazy high resort fee
"I visited South Lake Tahoe in the busiest part of the year: July The hotel was fully booked. The staff, though friendly, were extremely busy and didn't have time to give the guest attention. The resort fee for 3 days of over a 100 dollars (!) was just crazy. It's just extra money per night as if the base rate wasn't high enough for a renovated motel. A resort fee for what exactly? for use of the tiny pool? The absence of a gym? Parking motel style? The worst part of the stay was the mattress. It was absolutely horrible, I was sleeping in a hole the whole time. Probably a 30 year old mattress they didn't update alongside the renovation. Don't pick room 630 for the massive 300 dollars a night. I was dreading the nights of sleeping there. There was no way of changing rooms as it was fully booked. Coachman, please do better and place a new mattress there for new guests, they deserve it for the massive rate you're asking them to pay. You know you have the funds to do it"
