Windermere is een mooie kleine gemeenschap op slechts 5 minuten ten zuiden van Invermere op Lake Windermere in het regionale district van East Kootenay. Deze locatie is geweldig voor familie vakanties als de avonturen aangeboden in een rond Windermere zijn geweldig. U kunt een rondje golf volgen, of winkelen, gevolgd door een duik in de Hot Springs. Of paardrijden, wandelen in de parken, pak het witte water aan op een rafting en gebruik de Windermere Valley's goed gevulde meren. Nice size for our group everything clean and tidy inside. Easy to prepare meals and cleanup. Host was prompt and replied to texts quickly. Very quiet neighborhood. Deck and BBQ could use some TLC.

Second year: another success!

A group of 7 adults on our yearly trip just stayed here for the second year in a row. We love it! A great location within easy walking distance to the beach, a fantastic amount of space to gather as a group but still have our own "bubble" to hang out in. Everything is comfortable, and we were all very relaxed the whole time!

Broken doors, flooding basement and host was unresponsive

When we arrived the path wasn’t shovels. We checked in and it smelled funny. We check out the rooms and one the bedroom doors was off the hinges. We then used the bath room and the basement started flooding. We then tried to reach out to the host who was in Mexico. She was unresponsive for 2 hours. We called VEBO and was out on hold for 2 hours. They said they would help us find another accommodation but nothing. We left since all plumbing was going to flood basement where the bedrooms are. It took two days for the host to process a refund. She was unresponsive with VRBO which made everything take longer. Do not stay here. She doesn’t properly maintain the property or is available for check in. It took us 5 hours to find a mother place to stay.

Short stay in Windermere

We enjoyed our three nights in Windermere. The property is very comfortable, well furnished and equipped and is well located. We had one lovely day at the beach, which is a ten minute walk from the house. Then the weather turned and the wildfire smoke confined us to the house for one day. Unfortunately this is becoming an annual event in BC and Alberta and the AC is extremely welcome in these conditions. The only issue with the house was the bbq running out of propane when we grilled. Other than that, the rental met or exceeded our expectations.

What a fabulous house!

A group of us go on a trip every year and this year we chose Windermere. This house was perfect! It is spacious, had everything we needed, was comfortable and we all had a wonderful, relaxing time. We loved it so much we booked it for next year's trip already!

The bathrooms were clean and the beds were good. When we went there garbage was dumped at back deck. We informed the property owner and sent a photo but the place was sort of cleaned next day only and the owner never responded. One bathroom was attached so it was not possible to freely shared. The neighborhood was not tidy. Neighbors dogs were roaming in front of our door and scared us. This is ok house but overpriced.

Family Vacation

This house is an excellent family vacation home. Our family of 7 had lots of room to spread out. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and the entire unit was nice and clean. Our host was quick to reply to requests and made an extra effort to get a trades person out quickly on the long weekend to fix a problem. We would stay here again. The location is a great destination anytime of the year with easy access to the hot springs and ski hills. In the winter there are excellent cross country and skating trails maintained on the lake.

Christmas family gathering

We had 7 adults and one infant and had plenty of space to enjoy our stay in comfort. The kitchen had a good selection of cooking and serving supplies, and we were able to have a nice Christmas dinner around the large table. There is a new oven which worked very well for all the stovetop and oven dishes we enjoyed. The beds were comfortable, maybe a bit softer than we are used to but we all slept well. Bathrooms were clean and well supplied with towels. One suggestion would be to add some extra towel hooks in the main floor bath. We appreciated the availability of laundry. The basement was spacious and we enjoyed the fooseball table. We had plenty of room to enjoy Christmas morning gift opening. It’s a quick walk to the lake to enjoy skating, and there are other activities nearby such as skiing at Panorama, hot springs, hiking and just the beautiful mountain views to enjoy. We had a great stay and would be happy to return for another visit.

Great Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our time at this vacation rental. The beds were awesome…lovely modern home…awesome showers! Only downside was that the dishwasher and the stove oven weren’t working. Thankfully the neighbour cooked our turkey for us for Thanksgiving dinner. So all was well!!

Lovely Windermere Getaway

Our family had a lovely time in Windermere. The place is great with lots of room for all of us (and the dogs!) and the owner was accommodating and very responsive. Highly recommend!

Family friendly, spacious cabin in Windermere

We stay in Windermere area every summer, and enjoy being able to walk to the lake. From this cabin, Windermere Public Beach is 10 min walk and the small store (5 min walk) has ice, liquor and a few basic items. Easy access to Invermere by car, if you need more supplies or groceries. Cabin was spacious on 3 levels. We were 5 adults and lots of room. Kitchen has all the essentials to make meals, extra bowls, platters, etc. Coffee maker could use an upgrade, I would bring a coffee press next time. Big dining table if required. Outdoor deck was roomy, in the sun most of the day so it was hot, but evening was shady. There were 2 portable AC units, which was a necessity as temps were +30’s. Kept the cabin a reasonable temperature. An ensuite in the upstairs bedroom, plus a separate laundry room. 1 main floor bedroom, main floor bathroom. Both bathrooms had big showers, no tub. The basement was very big, with foosball table and couches, plus 2 bedrooms. Parking for 3 vehicles was a bonus. Communication with owner was easy and prompt. I would stay here again.

This was our second visit to Lake Windermere and this cabin. A great week with hot weather, great accomodation and the lake a short distance away. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we could need. Nancy was excellent and helped us out on a couple very minor issues. Highly recommend.
