'We found the property clean but lacking, certainly not "Superb". The decor was sparse e.g. bare light bulbs. Negatives Bathroom: no mirror, no towel rails, only one hand towel in the property for three. Kitchen: Two sets of knives & forks for three, no large glasses or wine glasses, no fire blanket/extinguisher, no downstairs smoke alarm I could spot. 'The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Would happily stay here again when visiting the area as it’s a perfect little...

'From the first to the last minutes we had an excellent stay at 'The Lodge' in Frosterley. We thought it would have been too far to walk to the village. But it took J. approx 15 minutes back and forth. In the lodge everything was absolutely fabulous. Some predecessors were not very satisfied with the bed. But it did not bother us. Apart from the friendliness of Julie & John we particularly liked the garden/terrasses with lots of sunshine and many birds like the robins. And at night the owl! So,...
