Pensions in Japan

'We stayed in their special Hello Kitty room and it was everything as promised. Super fun to get special merch and a huge plus to have a fridge and a place to sit. It was also located quite great and right by the older town of Kyoto and a short walk from Gion. Only minus though is the short check-in hours and other than that the hotel is not staffed. Everything is also a code and we made the mistake of taking a picture of the wrong one and had to go through quite the hassel with getting it back...

'Accomodation look nice at first impression, but sadly mattresses were very weak and room was noisy. Staff seemed indifferent and gave wrong price for bbq rental, when paying price was doubled. No coffee included with breakfast option. '

'The hotel was in the nature. We had a nice big room. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The owner also had a big telescope and lets customers have a look at night. Disadvantage is that there arent any restaurants around and therefor you need a car to find food. The owner gives a map, but ask for extra directions because with the map alone it is difficult to find.'

'清潔で、設備も思ったより古すぎることもなかった。アメニティも一通り揃っていた。 朝食は”英国風”の宿であるので、イングリッシュブレックファストを期待していたが、ただのサラダやソーセージといった洋食ミックスでガッカリした。 スタッフか、オーナー家族なのかは不明だが、宿のスタッフが全体的に、感じが悪く、無神経で失礼で驚いた。こんなに気分の悪い人たちが働いている宿は初めてで、選んだことを後悔した。お勧めしません。'

'Walking distance to ski slopes which is great unless the chairlifts are closed and you can’t ski across. No Ubers and it was a pain to get the shuttle bus to Hirafu where everything is (only 1 per hour). There was only a pizza shop and restaurant next door and a cafe down the road so a quiet village. We hired ski gear through the hotel and it was convenient (finished by 9am) and I think cheaper. The lodge it self was dated, bedroom and common room could use a refresh and upgrade. Price was...

'This facility is suitable for relaxing all the time with big outside bathtub and quiet room. We could stay in safe and really enjoy all of the time. Especially when we were in the 2nd floor in our room to take a outside bath, we were amazed by the beautiful sight of the stars. Although the temperature was so low, I guess it’s below zero, we were so excited to staring at the stars thanks to the hot spring.
