'It is a beautiful property. The house was very clean and comfortable. The host was very kind and communicated promptly with me. We enjoyed the firepit with free wood and the beautiful lake. Note that there is only ONE bathroom and the 3rd bedroom is in the basement and is not a room. The wifi was out the entire time we were there but we were told it was not the homeowners fault. Also note that there is a significant security deposit, more than I've experienced before, that I didn't know about...

'We wanted a peaceful getaway and that’s what got at the Buck Shack. We were a short drive with breathtaking views and landscapes. We enjoyed a campfire with s’mores at night. Enjoyed the sound of nature and birds singing. Had excellent communication with host and most everything we needed when we arrived. The indoor decor is rustic and beautifully decorated with small accents and details. Highly recommend!☺️'

'We absolutely loved our stay here. The pictures really don't do it justice. A number of people said that the rooms, especially the kitchen, were larger and nicer than the pictures seemed. It's in a very quiet and remote location. The driveway is easy to miss so drive slowly down the road. Google Maps directs you to where the house is closest to the road, not the end of the driveway, which is about 100ft from there. Note that there are exterior security cameras. 'Great house for a large family gathering. The location, though really remote, was centrally located for our families so we were more focused on the house than the surrounding area. We were blessed with a warm winter weekend so took advantage of the basketball court, hot tub, and outdoor fireplace. Lots of indoor and outdoor space to gather and have fun!'

'Nice place close enough to Salt Fork lodge. We stayed here instead of the lodge to save money when attending a Bible conference that is held at the lodge every memorial day weekend. It's 15-20 minutes from anything you need and in a nice spot where u feel you have privacy. Will look to use again in the future.'

'My husband and I booked this for our family and we had the BEST time! The host had the fridge and freezer stocked with goodies for us, the views from the deck were UNBELIEVABLE, we saw deer at sunrise, the beds were super comfortable, the whole house was decorated so tastefully for the holidays, perfect dining table for playing cards, they even had a dog bed and food/treats for your fur baby! If we could give 10 stars we would and we will definitely be back for each season!'

'This was a historic property with all the updates of a modern home. The hosts have made this a real labor of love with cute decorations, household necessities, snacks, and coziness everywhere. There were 2 twin beds in the kids room and a comfy queen bed in the master. We felt safe throughout our stay and got to see all the farm animals just up the road. Would highly recommend to friends and smaller families!'
