'I was in town primarily to attend a class, then my daughter joined me for a couple of days at the end of my 7-day visit. I was under the impression that this was a stand-along guest house on the property of the main house. It's actually attached to the main house, which was perfectly fine. Very private, nestled in the woods of a small, quiet neighborhood less than a mile from downtown Highlands. 'Had a last minute opportunity to visit my daughter and looked at VRBO since I've always had great luck with them. Got to the property and found out that my room was 1/4 price per night. I paid VRBO more than 4 times what the hotel price was per night. Property was just barely OK. Pool was closed. Breakfast made my daughter violently ill which put a damper on the weekend. Feel stupid and taken advantage of...and yes, I am part of that responsibility so that is why I am writing this review...buyer...

'The property was beautiful and the hosts were very helpful! It was the perfect spot for a getaway with friends! The location was perfect as it was a short drive from town and right on a gorgeous lake, where we had access to canoes and kayaks. We went on a few gorgeous hikes around the area (Whiteside Mountain, High Falls, and Rainbow Fallls at Gorges National Park). I highly recommend staying here, and I can’t wait to book my next trip!'

The suite is located in the peaceful and quiet Mirror Lake area, just a short walk from the town of Highlands. The suite was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a comfortable bed, plush towels, and a fully equipped kitchenette.'

'We enjoyed our stay at The Crow's Nest. The "cottage" was very clean, decorated nicely and provided everything we needed. The view from the family room was lovely. Wes and Leslie were very helpful giving us suggestions for places to eat and things to do. The area is quaint but close enough to Hendersonville, Black Mountain and Brevard that one could easily make day trips to these small towns.
