When booking I did not know that the original beach front hotel we previously stayed at has been chopped up into 2 hotels (now renamed Casa Del Jaguar & Oceanus Beach Club ALL owned by Na Balam). Na Balam isn't a beach hotel is NOT on the beach even though they still advertise that it is. Website is extremely misleading & still has old photos of the beautiful rooms we first stayed in posted on Expedia as if this is what you'll get when you stay at Na Balam. They combined pictures from old hotel & current hotels but that is NOT what you'll get when you book, you'll get the crappy hotel across the street. Originally, they had 2 hotels both named Na Balam, beach side & across the street. The beach now is extremely crowded because they charge & make money by letting random outside people to "use" their beach area. I was in complete shock & upset as this was supposed to be our honeymoon. I asked for the manager & was told she would come the next day. Then was told the next day that she not only wouldn't be coming but she was out of the country, so we were lied to. I was charged an outrageous price for a horrible room/overpriced food which you have to cross the road to get to their other hotel's restaurant. Stayed 1 night because we had nowhere else to go. They ruined original beachfront hotel by cramming in all the other buildings in to make more money. Speaking of money,.. NO REFUNDS were/are given! Ended up at a great Airbnb called Punta Mundaca, South East side of Isla Mujeres.
