'Sato san and Nora san were the perfect hosts for our 4-night stay. Food was very good and the pension was warm and cozy. Our room was spacious enough and had a wonderful view of sunrise and even part of Mt Iwaki. Our room package came with daily breakfast and dinner. We felt we were staying with good friends and every dinner was pleasantly spent with Sato san, Nora san and fellow guests. Bon-chan was a delightful addition to the experience too. 'Small bed and breakfast middle in the fields of Biei. Very nice owners. The rooms are basic and clean. We had to share the bathroom. Breakfast is excellent. Be aware that Biei is a very small town and has very few restaurants open for diner.'

While the location was convenient for walking to local pubs and convenience stores, and the staff was very responsive—helping us arrange a private taxi from the airport—the overall experience left a lot to be desired.
