Great location and pool
Safe area, easy walking to resteraunts shops beach mini-ruins, and large pool that had 8 people playing in it at once. A few aspects of the house are on the older end, but as long as that doesn’t bother you, the house is spacious and was perfect for extended family get together. Age range from 8 to 50 of all personality types and everyone found a ton of things to enjoy. Highly recommended.

Great stay
House was great, plenty of space for our family of 12. Kids enjoyed the pool and a short 15 minute walk to 5th street. Local manager was quick to reply to any questions I had.

Awesome stay…great house, great location, great communication!
Myrna was great to deal with from booking to end of stay. Answered all of our questions and provided lots of information. Teresa was in the house often to clean, etc. Such a wonderful service. Claudio the property manager was awesome. He came when needed and helped out with very fast service. The pool and grounds are well maintained. Loved having A/C in all the rooms. Perfect location to 5th avenue, grocery store and beach. 10-15 minute walk to all. Highly recommend staying.

Second time here!
This is a wonderful house in a great location. Our visits were five years apart and the house is starting to show that it’s a little bit tired.. A few cosmetic updates, as well as some new mattresses and pillows would make a huge improvement. The house is exceptionally roomy and the yard is wonderful. A short walk to the beach and 5th Avenue. This is a great choice for a large group.

Some positives and negatives
A group of 12 of us stayed at the house for a week and we experienced some positives and negatives. Positives: the house was clean and the housekeeper and groundskeeper were great. We enjoyed the outside area quite a bit. Location wise, it was a safe and secure neighborhood and relatively easy walk to a lot of activities. Negatives: the beds were all a bit hard and left us with sore backs and the stove did not work very well. We had to use the grill burner to get a pot of water to boil. We were under the impression that the house manager was going to meet us and show us how things worked in the house and where things were when we checked in and that never happened. We never met him throughout the week and he was only somewhat helpful at times via text. We didn’t have water for about 15 hours which made for an interesting evening for 12 people who had all been to the beach, one who was ill, and had just cooked dinner. Again, the manager never came to meet us or investigate the problem in the house. Then I was charged extra money for a water clean up in the house when no management came to investigate the issue until he sent someone else 15 hours after the initial report of water issues.

Thanks for the review Meghan, but I am a little bit confused about the review. In the house there is an electrical stove with owen and no need to heat water on the gas grill our maid showed you howe to use the electrical stove. Reagrding the water issue I think you forgott to mention that one of your friends forgot to close one of the watare taps and flooded the complete ground floor and emptied the two tanks we have for water. Thats why you where out of water and we had to ask the maid to come and clean up the groundfloor on a Sunday plus order a water truck to come an fill up the water tanks. Our local manager was also and check how everything went. Below is another rewiev from people who staied just after you. Villa Holiday was the perfect vacation home for our group of 13! There is plenty of space to spread out, with several bedrooms on the first floor and several on the second. We especially enjoyed the beautiful patio and garden area, where you are surrounded by nature but with the luxury of a refreshing pool and nice covered, outdoor living room. The pool and patio was cleaned everyday by staff, they have intertubes for floating in the pool and plenty of bath and pool towels. There are beach chairs and umbrella to take to the beach which is a 10-min walk through the Mayan Ruins and the neighborhood. It's about a 15-min walk to the main downtown area, which we enjoyed during the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat of the day. There are 2 nice coffee shops within a 5-min walk, but also the kitchen was stocked with coffee pot, blender, toaster, waffle iron, everything we needed. Tere came each weekday (not Sat or Sun) to clean, which was a nice touch and she was great. Claudio the property manager answered all of our questions quickly. We lost power for about 3 hours one day due to utility work in the area and he explained everything in a timely manner so we weren't concerned. I recommend having Whats App to communicate- it was really handy to text with the host and Claudio and to request taxi services, etc inside the gated Playacar community. Thank you to Myrna and the staff, we had a beautiful vacation!

The location is great and the staff as well only one complaint.
We ordered a catered dinner carne asada with rice, beans, sopes, and taquitos. Well everything was great except for the carne asada was hard as a rock. Other than that had the best vacation ever.

Fantastic private house!
What a beautiful house and property. Diverse tropical vegetation surrounds the property. Angel the pool, hot tub and landscaping man is there six days a week to make sure everything is perfectly running. Teresa, the housekeeper is meticulous in her housekeeping duties and we would like her to move to Ottawa where I'm sure we could make her a lot of money! She is fantastic. I'd like to thank Myrna for checking in with me and quickly taking care of a minor problem we had. Scott Philip P.S - Sorry about the Ping Pong balls Teresa!

50th birthdays trip
The property was wonderful. It had everything you needed. Plenty of room for everyone. The only thing was they had color toilet paper in the bathrooms which is no good for women. The property manager answered every question very quickly. Everything was within walking distance. Really no need for a car, which was super expensive. I would for sure rent the house again.

Family Vacation
The property was Great, everything you could need is provided. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Communication with Myrna and Claudio, was absolutely great. We had 1 hiccup with the gate entrance/exit (with only 1 individual), but that was taken care of. Location is great, walking distance to the main area and restaurants, very safe for our family. A suggestion, if the number to the Playacar taxi service could be provided, would help out a lot, but we made it work. Would definitely stay at this location again.

A perfect place to stay for your Playa del Carmen stay!
A group of 10 friends stayed at this property for just under a week. Leading up to the trip Myrna was very easy to communicate and was great to speak with. Made every accommodation that was needed for the group. The property is beautiful, there are a lot of rooms with beds that housed the group perfectly. Not too far of a walk to 5th ave to get to restaurants, bars, beaches, etc. This is a gated community, so we felt safe during our stay. Would highly recommend staying at this rental property.

Better than expected
The property was better than the pictures show. We had a family group of 13 from age 10 - 69. Nobody was crowded, the kids had their rooms and their was enough rooms for the 4 couples as well. The pool and jacuzzi were very convenient. The cleaning lady and pool guy were very polite and did an excellent job. The two refrigerators were a nice addition (one for drinks and one for food). We will absolutely stay here the next time we come back to Playa Del Carmen.

Perfect!
Stayed here for 5 days with a few friends. The home was well stocked with anything you need. The cleaning staff everyday was a MUST HAVE, as was the pool company. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will definitely be back again! The home was a close walk to downtown, and we enjoyed everything about it.

A Wonderful Christmas Holiday Stay
We had an outstanding time in Play thanks to Myrna and her team. The house was perfect for our extended family of 9 people. It is located in a quiet corner of the Playcar residential complex, but still within an easy walk of the beach and the strip. The pool and hot tub were constantly in use, and the back yard is truly beautiful. All the rooms were clean and well appointed, and the appliances and services all worked perfectly for out stay. The house was cleaned top to bottom every and and when the BBQ ran out of propane we had a new tank in less than 20 minutes. Myrna helped us find a local cook who made a Mexican dinner for us each night. The food was fantastic and Christmas dinner in particular was outstanding. We were very impressed. I have no trouble recommending the property to anyone else looking for a place to stay in Playa with their family. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Home for a big group
We brought 7 adults and 2 children to the home and it was a great spot for us to call home base, especially for the value. The kitchen is open, the bedrooms are cool, and the outdoor space is brilliant for relaxing. Communication was prompt and everything was tended to immediately. Would stay here again.

Everything was great with one exception of being told we could reach out to Claudio the property manager at any time and when we tried to call a few times, the second time, he told us not to call...only use text. Odd even though we spoke to him in Spanish . Other than that it was awesome. The cleaning lady was super nice and very attentive.

Girls trip
This is the perfect space for 12 girls, the pool, cool tub are fun!! Plenty of kitchen space for cooking, great outside grill. Close to walking into town, safe and comfortable surroundings. The only drawback is no air in the common area and August is super hot but the bedrooms are comfortable at night for sleeping. Maid service was nice to have. We had a wonderful time, thanks for sharing your lovely home! 😎

The Best
This is a beautiful home. The location is perfect. You can walk to town or to the beach. When we arrived, the house was very clean, but also very warm. There is air con in the bedrooms, but there is none in the common areas. The kitchen, dining room and lounge have fans, but get warm. We turned the air on in the bedrooms and that helped to cool everything down. We are a family of 15. There is plenty of room in the house. We never felt crowded. As other reviewers said, a couple of the bedrooms are small, the beds were firm, but comfy. Myrna was very responsive and put an extra bed in the twin room, which worked out perfect for 6 of our kids. The kitchen is well supplied. The two refrigerators are great. Everything worked. If we had a question we texted Claudio who responded quickly. The maid service was a little hit and miss. She was there for a couple of hours on weekdays. We are used to doing things for ourselves, so it was a treat having someone make the beds, do the dishes if there were any, and sweep the floors, however she would take used towels, and not replace them, or she would take the dirty towels in a bathroom, and roll them up and put them together, so we didn't know which towel was ours. We used the washer, dryer, but it is small and slow We had the chef, Lorena, prepare 3 meals for us., another treat for us. That was the best. She would prepare, serve and clean up. It was perfect, delicious, and the price is great. I recommend. The pool was great. A pool man came every morning, cleaned the pool and surrounding area. We used the pool every day. The kids loved seeing iguanas and Agouti in the garden. There were a few hiccups - if you have them prestock the kitchen, make sure you are clear on what you want. There was a mis-communication on our order and several things were missing or replaced with something else. It is a great service, but be clear on what you want. Overall, we had a wonderful, unforgettable vacation. My grandkids loved this vacation and this home. They like to "leave their mark" wherever we go. This year they decorated a variety of shells and made an arrangement para la casa. Thank you Myrna. You are great. I hope you enjoyed your Viking vacation. We will be back. **One huge disappointment and it has nothing to do with the house - beaches all over Playa Del Carmen are covered with seaweed. They try to control it, but it is terrible and makes swimming at the beach very uncomfortable and extremely disappointing. **

The house was exactly as described. Every day there was a cleaner for the house and the pool. Everything was very clean. Only disadvantage, not each taxi comes by the control plant into this residential area. It is easier to walk the 10 minutes to the checkpoint and take a taxi from there.

A wonderful stay in Playa Del Carmen
We loved our time spent here and this was the perfect house for our family vacation. From the beginning to the end, Myrna the owner was so responsive, helpful, professional, and accommodating. This place was just what we were looking for when we were planning our trip to Playa Del Carmen. Great Location, shops and restaurants were only a 10-15 minute walk away. Even with local shops nearby, it did not feel that way while we were at the house, the neighborhood was quiet and safe. It felt like we were away from it all... in our own tropical paradise. The house was clean and was exactly as described. We loved that the home was very spacious with more than enough rooms, beds, towels and bathrooms for our family of 13, our stay here was very comfortable. My in laws were with us, it was nice to have bedrooms on the main floor, so they would not have to go upstairs. Only one thing, we couldn’t get hot water in the upstairs shared shower… our teens shared that shower and made it through, but, honestly that is the only thing I could think of that was a little bit of an issue. Everything else was perfect. Kitchen was very well-equipped. We definitely used the kitchen a lot since there were pots, pans, plates, coffee pot and everything cleaned and ready to use. After our long days touring the town we enjoyed coming home lounging in the beautiful backyard sitting area, the pool and Jacuzzi were great. At the house we also had beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and beach gear available to use which we loved because we didn’t have to spend extra money on rentals or purchasing new ones. We really liked having only to drive less than ten minutes to get to the shopping plazas and grocery stores since it was all close by. All in all, staying here was simply perfect and will definitely recommend this place for big families or groups. Thank you Myrna for everything! We enjoyed every bit our vacation home.

Good property, great location
A good property and location for the area. Three of the bedrooms are excellent with full baths. A fourth bedroom is off the kitchen through the laundry area, not nearly as nice as the other three. Two separate bedrooms work for kids. Overall a good place to stay.

Beautiful property close to everything
Relatively short walk to shops, restaurants and beach. Property has everything you need to enjoy the tropical carribean location, fruit trees in the back yard attract birds and animals. Pool is nice size for family to enjoy. The only drawback is that while the 3 king bedrooms are nice master suites, the other rooms are not really suitable for adult couples as they are small. The room with twin beds serve as a pass through to access a master bedroom. The living room which can be closed off and used as a bedroom is a pass through to access a queen bedroom. The other queen bedroom is located off the laundry room, does not have luxurious appeal as it feels dark and cramped. The issue with bedrooms was easily overcome. The property was perfect for our large family gathering. We loved our vacation. Great value!. Myrna was wonderful throughout our transaction.

Beyond Expectations
Myrna is a fabulous hostess. I booked the home for a week for my birthday with 10 other people and it was perfect. She helped make sure the home was stocked with food, she helped and actually booked my airport transfers. She gave us info on a chef who prepared a phenomenal meal. I just cannot say enough about this place. This was my first time in Mexico and given my experience, I'd come back immediately. 7 stars from me!

Superb accommodations, great location at affordable price
Our family of 12 stayed here for the week before Christmas. We had kids, grandparents and adults. The house easily accomodated us with space inside and outside. The large kitchen was used everyday for breakfast and dinner. Bottled water for drinking and cooking was delivered daily. Walking to the beach was a breeze. The beach was fantastic! White soft sand with minimal people. The best beach in Playa Del Carmen outside the private resorts! It was a 10 min walk, but zigged once when we should have zagged (no signage) and had to deal with some loose stone steps. Playa del Carmen downtown was an easy 10 min walk- lots of activities for everyone. The pool was great for kids, and the outdoor landscaping was gorgeous. The daily maid kept sand and clutter to a minimum. With lots of kids it was great to have a washer and dryer. Overall a great rental.

We had a perfect house, great location.
We were so pleased upon our arrival, even better than the pictures. House was perfect with very quiet bedrooms, wonderful kitchen with lots of dishes. We cooked in a lot and with 7 people we had lots of room, we didn't realize their would be two Refrigerators, that was a real bonus! The patio has been redone with new tile all around, it's very nice, and the cabana is gone but a beautiful new area is a covered patio for shade, right off the kitchen with beautiful nice chairs for about 8 to seat in lovely chairs. There was also a very nice outdoor table and chairs to eat at. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants, or to get a taxi, or to go to the beach. We were very happy and have nothing but great things say. It's a very beautiful home, very comfortable for a large family. Maintenance when needed was provided immediately, Claudia the cleaning lady was very good.

Beautiful home with excellent staff
Beautiful home with excellent staff. House was cleaned everyday as well as the towels being cleaned and placed in bathrooms. The house is gorgeous and backyard is great for a bbq/ pool party. Recommended for groups of ten or more and it's on a beautiful golf course. Thanx again Myrna we might come back around the same time next year.
