'I stayed at the property with girlfriends and our dogs for a girls weekend. The property was clean and had everything that we needed for the weekend (and more). We loved the air hockey and ping pong in the basement. The host was very nice and was easy to get ahold of. I would definitely stay here again.'

'A great all-around experience. Lot's of room to relax, a nice big kitchen with a breakfast bar, and all a stone's throw from Starved Rock. I loved the balcony off the bedroom and the jacuzzi. The Grand Bear lodge has a great bar as well. Great restaurant options between Utica, Peru and Ottawa, or venture over to the Starved Rock state park lodge restaurant.'

'It’s super close to downtown Yorkville!! So in the months with better weather it would be perfect to stay and walk to the few restaurants downtown and little shops and the river area. We arrived a little early and the host let us in and was able to change the codes around so we could check in as it was cold out! So super accommodating helpful!! Also the garage is a bonus but anything larger than a mid range suv is not going to fit as parking is tight! The only issue we had was the neighbors were...

'Nice, roomy old house - great for two couples with plenty of room to spread out and relax after hiking with comfortable beds. Loved all the little touches - handwritten welcome note, toiletries in case you forget any and lots of seasonings and condiments in a fully stocked kitchen. Super close to Starved Rock and nice winery and breweries.'

'We really enjoyed staying here. The owner was very nice and answered all our questions. We loved being right on the river and we caught a lot of fish (bass and big catfish). We drove to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Park and went hiking there. We couldn't wait to get back to the cabin after hiking to relax. All the furniture, beds and bedding were very comfortable. The cabin is nicely decorated, beautiful wood furnishings and taxidermy. We would definitely stay here again!'
