'Really nice clean ryokan in a quiet part of the neighbourhood. Has everything you need. Walking distance to restaurants and the train station. It was great to experience this style of accommodation. Felt like we were really immersed in the local area and very different to the hotel experience. '

'We are at this Machiya on our recent holiday to Kyoto. The host Yuki introduced the place to us and we got to make macha together. It was a lovely place to stay and the outdoor bath was really nice especially as it is winter time now. It is located near Kyoto station and Gojo station. We also had the traditional breakfast which was delicious. Overall we were glad we picked this place for our stay at Kyoto and would highly recommend it!!'

'Japanese style room was okay! It is located on a quiet residential area about 15 min walk from Kyoto central station. The reception was at a different place (next street) - you need to goto this place for checkin formalities. This was mentioned in the instructions email, nevertheless it was not convenient. Bathroom taps were old and not that handy. To get the desired temperature of hot+cold water, some amount of maneuvering is needed!'
