'Amazing experience from start to finish. An extremely authentic and comfortable stay with top notch food, impeccable service from the owners and their staff! An hour out from the city, but the bus ride is an incredibly scenic route once you’re out the bustling chaos. Would love, love, love to stay here again in the future! '

'We loved the staff and hospitality at Momijiya. My husband said it felt like we were staying at our grandma's house. We loved the ryokan experience as well. We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience.
The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Our rooms were quaint with nice view, and the comforters on our futons were incredible comfortable. Like sleeping inside a warm cloud. This is a great spot to feel...

'Breakfast was great, Onsen was very sufficient and had private and public areas which I appreciate.
Guests on our floor were loud and the walls are thin, but hey, some tourists are like that and it’s not really the hotel’s fault. Everything else was perfect.'

'Just as the photos showed, the bathtub was fantastic to soak in at the end of the day. The amenities were of high standard. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Loved having the space for our family of 3. Washer dryer was great to use mid trip too.
We used the bus from the train station and it was only about 150m walk to get to Ryoken. Good restaurants nearby and easy walking distance or bus to nishiki markets, shopping area and Gion. A Big thank you to all the staff who were helpful and...

'Would highly recommend this property and Guin as a location to stay while in Kyoto. Quite a bit to see and learn in walking distance, the staff was very helpful, the view from the room of the temple bell tower and bath was amazing. '

'Simply spectacular. A real gem of a place. The attendees are extremely kind and go over and beyond to make the stay feel comfortable. This is a 7 star property with true cultural vibe. The food is fantastic. I’ll be going back for sure. The experience is worth every penny. '
