Relaxing in Paradise
We had a great stay. Cheryl was very communicative and very easy to deal with. This house sits right on the bay and is just stunning to wake up to the sunrise every day. The rooms all have cold AC and the showers were always hot. It is truly amazing when you first roll into the private gates and just take the view in. Samuel takes care of the property and any requests or needs you may have. He speaks good English too and is great to work with. Maricela kept our place tidies up every single day. It was nice to come home to a clean home after being out adventuring around. We had Samuel and Maricela prepare multiple breakfast and dinner meals for us as it just made life easier. There are a few good restaurants nearby, but having an infant child who already had a long day --- it was nice to just sit back and have dinner already made for us. GREAT HOSTS - GREAT LOCATION -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE!!

Second visit to Soliman Bay
Casa Tortuga is a gem in Soliman Bay, my family and I loved the location and property. Samuel and Maricela were not only meticulous in the keeping of the property but also in the preparation of meals, they were wonderful to us, accommodating to every member of the party and truly made us feel as if we were home. After a rocky arrival to Cancun the respite that Casa Tortuga and more over Samuel and Maricela provided was above and beyond, and already has us discussing our next trip back.

A perfect week !
From booking to leaving everything went super smooth. Cheryl was super responsive and helpful in helping getting there and making sure everything was ready for the whole group. Samuel and marisela made everyone feel like they were living a dream taking care of everything on site from cleaning the house every morning to doing laundry and preparing dinner and drinks for the evenings. The location is amazing being so close to tulum for evening adventures to everything else around making great day excursions and even right at home the beach offers adventures with the kayaks and snorkel opportunities around the bay. Overall a perfect week for everyone. Easy to balance relaxing with adventures and excitment. Thank you Cheryl, Samuel and Marisela !

Fantastic House!
We absolutely loved Casa Tortuga! The house was large and easily fit 10 of us with more than enough space. Samuel is a fantastic cook and was extremely helpful with setting up shuttles for us to take to different areas of Tulum. Right on the water and can't beat the turquoise water views! Plenty of outdoor seating and lounge areas for everyone to enjoy their time.

Lovely getaway in paradise
Our stay at Casa Tortuga was fantastic. We were 6 adults ranging from early 30s to mid 70s and 3 children ages 3, 3, and 6. We rented a car for some of our group, and I do recommend that if you'd like to explore some of the nearby area (we did the Casa Tortuga cenotes). The place is within a protected beach-front community on Soliman Bay, and a guard is in place to open the gate for you as you arrive and when you need to leave. We all felt very safe there. The Bay is beautiful, we kayaked out into the Bay each day and spent time snorkeling in some of the deeper water. We spent most of our time on the hammocks on the beach or relaxing by the pool or in the outdoor furniture on the deck. Each bedroom has it's own A/C which worked perfectly for our entire stay. I'm not sure what to say about Samuel and Marisela, they were the difference makers. Samuel was available to help if anything went wrong and his food and drinks are amazing. We did about 2 meals per day on average and a few margaritas. Marisela cleaned, did laundry for us, and served as sous chef. We all wanted to take them home with us.Only minor cons-beach is a bit rocky, sand on the property wasn't as good for play by the kids as I had hoped from the pics (it's just a thin layer on solid ground), they could provide some additional child safety to the stair railing-our daughter fell a few feet through the opening and had a couple scrapes. All said, it was amazing and we want to come back, or buy the place and stay!

Everything was perfect!
We spent 6 wonderful days at Casa Tortuga with extended family as we were there for my daughter's wedding. The accommodations were perfect for our large group giving everyone space to relax and come together for the fantastic meals prepared by Samuel and Marisela in the outdoor kitchen area, which was a definite highlight. We had Samuel stock the kitchen for us before we arrived and most of our dinners there which was so convenient for our large group and they are 5 star restaurant quality. Loved his happy hour margaritas too! The place is clean, well stocked with what you need and if you can't find it or don't have something Samuel is a great resource. The beach was in front was clean and we even had some green turtles hatch from a nest right in front of villa while we were there. Marisela keeps the place spotless. We felt safe always and appreciate the extra security on this Bay. Everyone in our group raved about the place! I highly recommend Casa Tortuga for a large group, it is perfect!

Beautiful and well kept.
Our stay was great. We hired the chef for most of our meals and he did a great job. We had 2 with severe allergies and 5 with celiac and needed a gluten free diet. He accommodates incredibly well for all our needs. The only negative thing was the seaweed and the horrible smell that accompanied it. We were told about it, but didn’t realize how extensive it would be. Even with people clearing the beach daily it was still too much to clean up. And the stench of it was sickening at times. But none of this was the owner or managers problem, it was just Cancun in August. It is something to think about before going.

Vacation of our dreams
Look no further than Casa Tortuga for your next vacation! This amazing house HAD IT ALL!!! Amazing beachfront views, pool, shaded sandy yard, kayaks, paddle boards, sand toys, lots of space, and cool A/C rooms! Our group of 9 Adults and 3 kids had the most amazing time! The house and amenities were exactly as expected but what took our vacation to the next level was Samuel And Marisela!! These two went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time! Samuel was so kind and helpful. He helped set up taxi service to the ruins and cenotes as well as a quick trip to downtown Tulum and also set us up with massages on the property! But if that wasn't enough he is also the most amazing CHEF!! The food was one of the highlights for everyone! Before our trip we talked about going out to eat and we planned for cooking some meals on our own but after our first dinner we realized we only wanted our meals made by Samuel! Everything he made us was exceptional! I could on and on about how amazing our stay was and how much we did not want to come home! We felt safe the entire time and Cheryl was very responsive as well! The only "downside" was the sargasso(which we were expecting prior to our trip). It was pretty heavy while we were there so we were unable to access the water from the beach right outside the house but just a short walk down the beach we could find access. The guys worked hard daily to clean the sargasso and we never had an issue with it smelling or causing any problems.

Wonderful Spot
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Tortuga. Samuel and Marisela are wonderful hosts, and kept the house very clean and made wonderful meals. Our group included adults and young children, and everyone had fun with kayaks to get onto the water for swimming and snorkeling, toys to play in the sand, and pool floats and toys for enjoying the pool. Beds/bedrooms were comfortable for sleeping and the air conditioning worked well during the nights. We made use of the upstairs kitchen a handful of times, and found it well stocked with what we needed for cooking. Overall, a wonderful experience and we would absolutely stay again if returning to the area in the future!

Fantastic Vacation Home!
The house is everything described and more! Looks great in person and certainly well kept. We appreciated that there was ample drinking water and AC for each room, comfy beds, and reliable wifi. We found that the kitchen had everything we needed to make full meals and loved that there were several places to eat/drink both indoor and outdoor. We also had Samuel stock the fridge which was very helpful and save a trip to the grocery store although there is also a grocery delivery service in the area. Samuel and Marisela made a wonderful meal one night, kept the property looking great, and were always helpful when needed. It's a quick walk to nearby Pandano restaurant and bar and a 10-15 minute taxi ride to town. You essentially have your own private beach to enjoy as well as the pool and all the lounge chairs on the property. We loved taking the kayaks and paddleboards out one day and there seemed to be plenty of beach items and sand toys for families considering the property. Even as a small group of young women we felt safe the entire time because there is always security at the gate at the entrance to the street where the home is located. Cheryl was quick to respond to any communication and made the whole process simple and enjoyable. Already dreaming about our next trip and would definitely stay at Casa Tortuga again.

This place made our trip to Mexico. Everything was super nice and the location was central to everything that made getting everywhere a total breeze. Samuel and Marsiela were unbelievable, the cooking was fantastic, and the margaritas were on point. Samuel will lead you to the best places - deep sea fishing, cenotes, and ruins. Great place!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Tortuga with 5 adults and 6 kids. The beds are very comfortable and A/C was so nice. Samuel is the best and made our stay so memorable and comfortable. Marisela made sure the rooms and common areas were very clean and did our laundry twice. The food and drinks were amazing and we had lots of fresh seafood. The sea grass was a bit of a bummer because it was hard to get to a good swimming area and quite a walk or paddle to the blue water. The smell was only bad a few times. The pool is perfect for playing or lounging and everyone spent lots of time in that area. The restaurant down the beach m, Pandano, is really good and they offer a day beach pass, but we had too many kids with us so they did not want to accommodate us on a Saturday which was understandable. Samuel arranged a driver for us to explore Akumal Beach and Cenotes. Those were both great excursions. We would definitely stay again!

Excellent place for a couples retreat
We went as a group of 10 and had a fantastic time! Samuel and Marisela were always around when we needed them and did a great job keeping up after our messy crew. Their food was excellent! I do not recommend trying to cook while you are there as the kitchen supplies are limited. Samuels food is absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. I especially suggest the grouper. The view from the house and the pool was so gorgeous, especially sunrise and sunset and there was plenty to see while snorkeling. We also saw a sea turtle and lots of nests! Caution to those who have a heightened sense of smell, the sargasso seaweed can smell pretty dank but you definitely get nose blind to it quickly. Some folks in our group didn’t even mind the smell. Cheryl was very easy to work with and has a great information packet that answered all of my questions. If you are sensitive to the heat, beware that each room has its own ac unit but sometimes they can’t quite keep up and it still gets a little stuffy. The main room/kitchen upstairs has no ac so we didn’t use it much. But we didn’t have much need for it either because the pool and downstairs area were so great, we spent all of our time there. The short road you turn onto when you are just about there in is pretty bad shape, so if you get a rental car make sure it can handle some big potholes!! Definitely recommend this place, we really had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much. Wish we would have stayed longer!

Happy you enjoyed your stay hopefully you can make it back one day. Not sure why the kitchen was not fully equipped, everything should be either in the outdoor kitchen or inside kitchen. I will have Samuel check into any missing items. We do everything we can to clean the beach as fast as possible. We can not have machines on the beach as we are on a turtle nesting area. Which we have one nest on our beach now. It is unfortunate that one of the A/C units broke down during the night, I did everything possible to have it fixed right away. We now have a new A/C unit in that bedroom. I will let Samuel know how much you enjoyed his meals. Take care Cheryl

We had a WONDERFUL time at Casa Tortuga despite the sea grass! We so appreciated that you tried hard to be proactive with it’s clean up. Thus being said it gave us more time to explore all Tulum and area has to offer. Samuel and Marsila are amazing! We were sad we didn’t have them prepare every dinner for us. And Samuel is a wonderful bartender! We highly recommend Cheryl and Dean’s place for a nice quite and relaxing vacation. And take advantage of Samuel and Marsila’s cooking, you will not be disappointed!

Paradise
Paradise. This is our second stay at Casa Tortuga- It was so relaxing and gorgeous the first time we had to come back with our kids and family friends! The bay is perfect for older children/teens to kayak and snorkel, they're always in view, and security helped us to feel safe. It's a very protected bay. Samuel and his sister are amazing chefs, our rooms were sparkling clean every day, and the pair made both of our stays even better than would be expected. The house is comfortable with gorgeous views everywhere. The staff is working tirelessly to remove the sargassum seaweed. Unfortunately, it really does give a terrible odor once it starts drying on the beach, but it's not their fault, and they really are working long hours to remove what washes ashore. Overall this was paradise and a lifetime favorite. Heavenly.

Cheryl’s house is beautiful. Right on the beach with amazing views day and night. It is very quiet and private. We had every meal cooked by Samuel and Marsila and it was AMAZING! Welcome to Paradise
Such a beautiful property with beautiful ocean views and lots of space. Samuel and Marisella made our stay even that much better - they felt like family by the end of the trip. The food was amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to have every meal prepared by Samuel and Marisella. They take care of everything and really let you unwind and relax. There was a daily dose of sargassum but Samuel had his crew work extra hard each day to remove as much as they could so it was as minimally intrusive on our vacation as possible. Thank you Samuel! Many amazing memories were made with our family and friends at Casa Tortuga.

Terrific Time at Casa Tortuga!
We just returned from a week at Casa Tortuga with a group of 13 (6 adults and 7 kids ages 9-11) and we loved it! The highlights were the outside space, and the wonderful staff for the house, Samuel and Marisela. Being right on the beach in a quiet bay was such a special treat. Our kids loved playing in the sand but note that venturing into the ocean easily isn't an option due to the sargassum and the rocks, plus the murky water meant no good snorkeling in Soliman Bay. The pool was delightful and we appreciated all of the pool toys. There are no tandem kayaks and only a couple of kids' life jackets so taking kids kayaking isn’t an option. We hired Samuel to cook almost every meal and he is a WONDERFUL chef. The pricing can’t be beat, and his margaritas were perfection every time. We wouldn't recommend planning to cook at the house until the pots/pans/cooking tools are restocked. They were a little sparse. But honestly, take a break from the cooking and hire Samuel – you won’t regret it! The house itself is pretty straightforward but is clean and spacious. Marisela does a great job of keeping the house pretty spotless every day. Having an outside kitchen and the great outside space really kept the house from getting too crowded. Note that the main living area is upstairs along with the primary bedroom and a bedroom with two queens. Downstairs is two rooms each with a king bed and ensuite bathrooms. There is a casita behind the house with a double bed, futon and bathroom. The house only has external stairs so overnight if you lock up, kids that don't sleep upstairs can't get inside upstairs. The wifi was better than we expected but would struggle more as the day went on. Our favorite excursions were the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary and Casa Tortuga Cenote (not to be confused with the house.) Overall, we highly recommend this home and best for groups with older kids.

So happy you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for letting me know the good and not so good so we can improve for our guests. We are in the process of looking for double kayaks when I was there in November we looked at Costco, Sams, and everywhere else with no luck. I am now looking online hopefully we can get a few soon. Also adding a few more lifejackets. Sorry to hear about the snorkeling it is always spectacular out at the buoy. I have asked Samuel to make sure both kitchens are well stocked with all the required items. Not sure what happened to them we just bought new pots etc. in November, sometimes items end up in his storage room as he does a lot of cooking for most groups. All sets of keys now have access to the upstairs for everyone. Once again Thank you Cheryl

Casa Tortuga and Soliman Bay, a nice place to stay.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Casa Tortuga. The house and property were kept very clean. The beach was kept clear of all the sargasso on a daily basis…an endless job. Samuel and Maricela were wonderful cooks and kept the place so clean and orderly. Being on Soliman Bay was very peaceful and pretty. A great escape from all the activity in Tulum.

Views that take your breath away with beach access only feet from the property
What an amazing experience! My family of 6 stayed at this beautiful property over Thanksgiving and it was everything we hoped and more. Plenty of space to have some privacy, but communal areas that allowed for family get togethers. Beach access was truly feet away and so much to do. - even if simply hanging out in the hammocks/!. Everyone took advantage of the paddle boards and kayaks - the water was so calm and shallow that everyone felt comfortable. Samuel and Marisol were amazing. Constantly working around the property but never intrusive and after reading the reviews, we purchased meals for breakfast and dinner almost every day. Best part of Mom's vacation was never hearing the question "what's for dinner?". Samuel's cooking was excellently prepared and the whole family loved every meal - especially steak and lobster for Thanksgiving. Somehow I'll have to figure out how to copy Marisol's salsa! We were originally supposed to be 10 and would have still had plenty of room - great house for an extended family retreat!

Best birthday ever!
I rented this house as a birthday present for myself and for 9 other friends. We could not have had a better time! Samuel and Marisola made the trip extra special. We had breakfast everyday at the house and it was AMAZING. We went out once for dinner and never again... we had way better food at the house. We had steak and lobster on my birthday night and everyone could not stop talking about how delicious the food was. Samuel took care of every single request immediately and Marisola was so sweet. We had 0 issues whatsoever. Everything in the house was comfortable, clean and perfect. The outside of the house is like your own private resort - hang by the pool, take a siesta on the beach or take out a kayak in the bay. I cannot thank Cheryl enough for making the trip so easy to book and a HUGE GRACIAS to Samuel and Marisola!!!

Casa Tortuga was beyond amazing! If you are thinking of staying here, you SHOULD! Samuel was so helpful with everything we needed. He is also a fantastic chef. He cooked us breakfast and dinner each day we were there and everything tasted so delicious. The property was just as advertised. It was spacious and clean and we couldn't have been happier. The pool was such a great spot for us to hang out and cool off. Cheryl was so friendly and returned all messages so quickly. She was super helpful in making sure everything was ready for us when we got there. She answered all of my questions even when I kept changing plans! We would love to come stay here again. A slice of heaven
Everyone in our family group of 10, from age 5 to 80, enjoyed this vacation and this amazing home to the MAX! Such comfortable sleeping spaces and 'hang out' space for everyone, providing the together time and alone time we each needed. We loved waking up in the morning, making coffee, and hanging out on the spacious deck overlooking beautiful Solomon Bay while we made our plans for the day. We'd often head to the pool for a cooling dip and some 'read time' while the younger one practiced snorkeling and general silly time with the fun water toys. With the Mesosmerican Reef (second longest reef in the world)right out our front door, a quick kayak ride brought us to snorkeling among amazingly beautiful schools of fish, turtles, even a little squid! And there are so many sites to visit in this gorgeous part of the world. Samuel and Maricela are fabulous cooks and we loved all 6 of the delicious meals they made. Fabulous margaritas and delicious salsa. Dinners are great but don't miss breakfasts - French toast is the best EVER. and the Mexican eggs are out of this world. Samuel is so very helpful with every question and request. The best part was the chance to be with our family from different states after two years of caution around covid. Everywhere we went, people here were cautious; we felt safer than we did in the states. A wonderful time! Hope a return is in our future!

A hidden piece of paradise!
Our stay at Casa Tortuga was nothing short of amazing! Samuel made our stay so wonderful, his margaritas were delicious! The home is spacious enough to give the 9 of us privacy, but still have us all close! The workers worked hard every day to clean the beach up from the sea grass, the kayaks were great as well as the hammocks right on the beach! The kiddos loved the pool! Cheryl was very helpful while we planned! We couldn’t of asked for a better stay! The only downside was the roughness of the road getting down to the house, other than that… all was perfect!

Hit hard with the sargassum on this trip
We just got back from 7 nights here in July and the sargassum is really bad right now and so is the smell. It makes a lot of the outside unusable which is really the heart of this house. You will not be able to enter the water from the beach in front of the house to swim but if you walk to the other side of the bay (by the hotel) you will be able to enter from there. You can enter the bay in front of the house with kayaks and you will just have to paddle past the brown water. There are guys shoveling the seaweed and taking it out in wheelbarrows but there is just so much they can remove while it continues to roll in. The downstairs bedrooms get the smell worse then upstairs. The house could use some small updates but it’s nice. The road to get to the house was really bad. I didn’t read any reviews about this so I was taken by surprise. If you rent a vehicle I would get an SUV as it’s a really bumpy road for about 15 minutes straight. Samuel made dinner for us upon arrival and it was great. That was the only time we used him but would recommend having a meal ready on your first day with him. Overall I would say if you are coming in the summer be mindful of your expectations with the sargassum. This is not the fault of the house or owners but if you are not prepared you can be disappointed. If you are coming any other season I think the beautiful location covers up anything the house may be lacking.

Amazing getaway
We absolutely loved this vacation! Samuel was so helpful and accommodating. He had the sweetest disposition. Prepared meals and housekeeping were certainly a highlight that made our vacation feel truly relaxing . Seaweed was an issue during our stay, but the staff worked hard to manage it. The owners cannot control the seaweed, and we certainly recognize that. The views were breathtaking, and the snorkeling was an activity that all of our family enjoyed. Cheryl was communicative from beginning to end and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Thank you for sharing your home with us! I would highly recommend to anyone considering a vacation in Tulum.

Gorgeous property, but staff with heart makes it a 15/10
Casa Tortuga was amazing, and Genny and Samuel were just so kind, caring and made our trip incredible. We felt comfortable and cared for throughout. Samuel helped us arrange long massages on the beach (which were amazing and very reasonably priced), and gave us tons of recommendations. He even helped connect us with Andres, a driver who took us around and got us the best tacos in the city. Everything was extremely clean and neat. Samuel's cooking was a major highlight - I recommend getting the welcome dinner and breakfasts every morning. It was the highlight of our day. We'll be sending everyone we know to Casa Tortuga and hope to come back! I'm already planning to bring my parents next year. We also called the property 'Crab City' because of all the adorable hermit crabs everywhere, and my friend loved all of the iguanas all over the property. There was sargassum this time of year, but Cheryl gave us all the information we needed to make our stay incredible, and it honestly didn't affect our stay at all. The pool was absolute perfection.

Private oasis
This property was even nicer than we had anticipated and the attentiveness of the staff was impeccable. I highly recommend utilizing the private chef service. Cheryl had a group of workers tackling the seaweed in front of the house everyday. We felt very safe in the gated community!

Sanctuary in Tulum
Casa Tortuga is a beautiful refuge in a gated community in Northern Tulum. It was the perfect escape that my family and I were looking for to cap off a crazy year. When considering where to rent in Tulum, we considered a large condo closer to the main hotel zone; but so glad we decided here instead. Waking and sleeping to the sound of the ocean was wonderful. Samuel and Cristina cooked wonderful meals (very affordable) and kept the house sparkling. We kayaked, explored cenotes, saw ruins, visited the hotel/restaurant walking distance up the bay, went to Xel-ha (an amazing eco waterpark 10 mins away). We did venture into some restaurants in the "Hotel Zone" - but the heavy traffic and crowds had us retreating to Casa Tortuga most of our trip. Cheryl is an amazing host that responded quickly to any small issues that arose. The house has everything you could need, including smart touches like bottle water dispensers in every room. There are 2 kitchens, an outdoor shower, and much more. The house itself is on a double lot so there is lots of frontage to the ocean to enjoy. If you're looking for a beautiful place to relax and enjoy Tulum - this is it!

Such a lovely retreat with the best views
We loved everything about our stay at Casa Tortuga. The house has everything you could need, and is a great escape, especially during COVID-19 when a vacation requires a true getaway and not near a bustling city or town. Cheryl was very easy to work with throughout the booking process. I can't say enough good things about Samuel and his wife Christina, as the caretakers and chefs at the house. We opted to have most dinners and all breakfasts cooked by them at home, and honestly they were some of the best meals we had in all of Mexico. Incredible flavors, and variety. They also did a great job cleaning the home and bedrooms each day. I would definitely recommend getting meals cooked by them, and make sure you tip them extra because they work so hard to ensure every guest has a great vacation. Will definitely try to come back and stay at Casa Tortuga again in the future!

A Week In Paradise
My friends and I had the most amazing week at Casa Tortuga. There was plenty of space for 10 of us to stay comfortable for a week. It was wonderful to be on beach and have a pool as well! Samuel was the sweetest—so welcoming and kind. Also a great cook! We all decided this place was a highlight of our trip without a doubt.

Great House!
We loved our week at Casa Tortuga. The house was well-stocked, well-kept and spacious enough for four couples. Samuel and Norma were great and helped with shopping, cooking dinner (Yum!), scheduling a yoga instructor, recommendations and keeping the house and property spotless. The pool and beach are perfect for relaxing. The bay was wonderfully warm and full of fish for interesting snorkeling. The location was close enough to Tulum to be convenient but also nicely secluded as well. We are already dreaming of our return trip!

Perfect Getaway!!
We had a fantastic week at Casa Tortuga- Samuel and Norma kept us well fed and spoiled! There were 8 of us (two families) and the house was perfect. We definitely enjoyed kayaking in the bay, drinks on the beach and eating in the outdoor kitchen area! The sea grass didn’t cause any problem as the guys kept a nice clean spot on our beach. We caught a nice bunch of fish down toward Zamach/Punta Allen and Norma prepared it for an amazing meal! On our 5th day, Samuel arranged a small boat/guide to pick up the guys and a few hours later they were back with an awesome 15lb mahi (dorado). We ate good!! Will definitely be back to Casa Tortuga!

Family get together
The house accommodated our family well. The kitchen was spacious and made meal prep easy. We lived the night Samuel and Norma cooked for us. They were there every day to clean the pool and house. Our grandchildren loved the pool and the grownups enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. We highly recommend Casa Tortuga.
