I’ll try to be fair. The room was very comfortable. Clean, bed was comfortable. Porch, hammocks, were great. Basically.inside the room was five stars. But… First, we arrived at the property without any instructions from the owner. That made it difficult after a long day of traveling. However once we got the owner on the phone he sent instructions quickly. Then, Outside the room was a different story. The property sits right on a lagoon that floods every morning. We had to walk through eight inches of lagoon water in the courtyard both mornings we were at the property. And not the cleanest water. We were on the island mid November. It is the rainy season. This property is down a road that is totally flooded with dirty water. We walked through it for both days we were there. Pretty disgusting. Maybe different time of year it would be different.

The property was absolutely excellent! We stayed for 5 nights and would gladly book a stay here again. Everything was clean and safe. It's a great escape from the bustle of the city center but everything is still very accessible by foot.

Super schöne und ruhige Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, wurde regelmässig geputzt (danke Betty!) und die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Für uns der beste Platz auf der Insel. Die Sonnenaufgänge am Morgen über der Lagune sind wunderschön. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Die Abende in der Hängematte auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf die Lagune. Die Lage war ist gut. Keine lauten Nachtclubs in der Nachbarschaft und trotzdem ist alles fußläufig zu zureichen. Die Ausstattung war absolut ausreichend für uns. Für Fragen steht täglich von ca. 9-13 Uhr die Reinigungsdame zur verfügung. Bei uns waren die Nachbarn fast alle angenehm ruhig. Auch die Waschbären waren nicht allzu laut. Insgesamt haben wir sehr schöne Tage in der Casa del Alux verbracht.

Amazing place! It's just a bit outside the busiest area of Holbox, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is especially good and comfortable, A/C works very well, the kitchen is equipped to cook the basics. The room was also extremely clean and taken cared of every day.

The place was roomy and had all the amenties we needed. We appreciated the outdoor sitting area with hammock for lazy afternoons. It was down a very quiet street too. Also appreciated the wifi. The shower pressure was the only downfall.

Me encantó 💛
Me enviaron instrucciones por email antes de mi llegada para que hiciera check in sin contacto y además muchas recomendaciones de actividades en la isla, me encantó ese detalle! En la habitación hay cafetera, frigobar, microondas y muchos cubiertos, el espacio es amplio y afuera hay hamacas para que te relajes. La zona es muuuuuy tranquila y se nota que si hacen limpieza, dormí muy bien. La próxima vez que viaje a Holbox seguramente me hospedaré ahí.

La habitación está super bonita, muy limpio, me gustó mucho su aroma, el comedor con todo lo necesario y una vista espectacular. El amanecer es un espectáculo natural y en las noches se pueden contemplar las estrellas con el sonido de la laguna, una experiencia sensacional. Superó mis expectativas por mucho.

Me llevo un excelente recuerdo de la Isla de Holbox... Comenzando por el hospedaje, en el cual fue muy placentero ya que la habitación es muy amplia, agradable y limpia además de un precio muy accesible...cuenta con todos los servicios y es un excelente lugar para relajarse y disfrutar... La atención fue excelente por el sr. Willy, que en todo momento fue muy atento... Pienso regresar al mismo lugar pronto... Cómo recomendación para las parejas es que prueben en el centro la pizza de langosta y si les toca conocer a don Leo (músico bohemio) se llevarán un rato muy agradable...

Located in a tranquil spot on the lagoon away from the hustle and bustle of the resort strip, this lovely 4-unit vacation rental is still within walking distance of the beach, all the food and drinks in town, and the nature preserve. There are only 4 units on site, so it's quite private and quiet and the fence makes it all feel secure (not that Holbox feels unsafe in any way). Good communication with the owner and staff, despite our minimal Spanish. Amenities are relatively minimal but you have what you need for a a home-away-from-home feeling. There was a bit of construction noise during the day due to it being a developing area. However, I will take a little sawing over screaming kids and endless ATV taxis any day. Overall Casa Alux isn't all the right choice for someone who wants a full-service resort feel, but if you prefer quiet, less crowds and a kitchen (!!!), it's a delightful option at a good price.

Kommunikation für Anreise haben wir über Whatsapp gemacht, war unkompliziert. Vor Ort nur auf Spanisch, aber sehr nettes Personal.

Hospedarnos en La Casa del Alux fue toda una experiencia desde el primer dia. La habitacion es realmente grande y la limpieza impecable. Esta ubicada a 5 minutos de la playa principal y las calles principales de Holbox. Guillermo nos mando información local unos dias antes de nuestra llegada, y Maria nos dio mas recomendaciones una vez nos instalamos, realmente una ayuda que nos permitio disfrutar de la isla de la mejor forma posible.

Hidden gem on Isla Holbox
Very nice, big and airy room, with comfy bed, fridge, microwave, dishes, and housekeeping. The view from the deck (hammocks) is great over the marsh, with starry skies and nice breeze at night. Willy is also a great host; very friendly and accomodating. The location is very quiet, yet also very close to the beach, restaurants, and corner store. We would love to come back!

Excelente Anfitrión,. Todo está de lujo. Privacidad y tranquilidad es lo que vas a encontrar en Casa Alux. 100% recomendable. no busques más. La comunicación con el anfitrión es perfecta y rápida. Todo está como ves en las fotos. y en Vivo, se ve y se siente mucho mejor. La Casa traspira PAZ. Si quieres relajarte con tu pareja, es el lugar indicado . Con Hamacas y vista al Manglar, sin nadie que os moleste. Tumbarse a ver las estrellas por la noche es un placer. Aaah y no tuvimos nada de mosquitos. ESTUPENDO. Sin duda una mágnifica elección. GRACIAS WILLY y GRACIAS a Maria , que nos trató estupendamente.

Unforgettable place!
We loved the design of the suite, its decor is beautiful, a mix of modern with lots of wood which makes you feel like you are on an island in the Caribbean. The cleanliness, the quality of bedding and towels were always noticed. The place is located in front of a small lagoon and has amazing views, just one block from the beach, with only two suites makes it very intimate and private. My husband and I slept very comfortably and it was exactly the romantic place we expected. The internet signal pretty good as well. We will definitely return!

Doblemente satisfecho!!
Es mi segunda vez en la isla pero esta vez lo disfrute mas porque la suite esta muy grande y comoda con una cama en la que dormi como bebe…ja ja ja Tambien disfrute de la vista a la laguna y el manglar mientras tomaba el cafecito que ellos ofrecen y aproveche el servibar para guardar mis cervezas bien frias… Esta a dos minutos de la playa y su dueños siempre estuvieron pendientes por si se nos ofrecia algo. La relación precio y calidad me parecio equilibrada…

Superb choice
The suite was very comfortable, extremely clean and in a beautiful location. Even though it is not directly at the beach, it has a beautiful terrace with view to the lagoon. It is very peaceful, private and quiet, but you can still comfortably walk to the beach and many restaurants. The owners are extremely nice and always available.

Una bella casa
La habitación que renté por dos noches fue la que está ubicada en el segundo piso de la Casa Alux. Es amplia, el baño muy cómodo, limpio y amplío (hago énfasis en éste porque para mí es muy importante). En general todo está muy cuidado: la decoración, la limpieza y el trato amable y atención continua de los dueños Martha y Willy, y de su personal, María. Siempre hubo flexibilidad para hacer check in o check out, lo cual agradezco porque fue muy útil para llegar y salir de la isla. La casa está cerca de una laguna y es un plus por la vista que tienes cuando sales a la terraza, donde hay dos hamacas y dos camastros. La playa está a dos cuadras (menos de 5 minutos caminando) y el centro a unas 6 cuadras (alrededor de 10 minutos caminando). Cuando estuvimos hospedadas mi amiga y yo, fuimos las únicas en la casa, sin ruidos ni molestias, por eso para mí su ubicación estuvo perfecta. La casa es ideal para rentar a una familia o grupo más grande; de hecho, ésa es mi idea para el verano. Gracias por todo Martha y Willy.
