'We stayed for 12 days . The room was clean basic , confusing as to when housekeeping would come and clean. Sometimes at 7-8 pm. We loved the pool option and chilled there pretty much every day- would have loved a more attentive/interactive staff (bar one lovely lady and the bartender with the glasses ) that would come to the loungers and ask if you wanted a drink/ needed another drink rather than making you go to the bar all the time - took away from that “being on holiday feeling.” The staff...

'Beautiful location with wonderful staff who are always happy to help. There were a few areas of the property that needed some maintained better, and the beach should be far more accessible to those with mobility issues who cannot handle stairs. We were unable to visit one of the restaurants because of that issue. Food could use a lot of help. The only two places with food that actually tasted good was the sports bar and the hibachi location. Buffet breakfast was also amazing. '

'Found out that booking through Expedia gave us VIP perks at Sandos...that was a nice surprise! Really liked the the three pools, little different vibes at each one. Lots of activities to participate in and evening entertainment was good that we attended, starts kind of late but thats due to people who have late dinner reservations. All the restaurants were great, very nice and tasty. Over all...great place to stay'

'Occidental Tucancún has a lot of surface appeal, but the experience doesn’t quite live up to what you’d expect from the setting. The first impression is strong—the lobby is genuinely beautiful, and the grounds are well-maintained and inviting. It gives you the sense that you’re about to have a relaxing, upscale stay. Unfortunately, that feeling fades pretty quickly once you get past the common areas. The rooms are a major letdown. They feel closer to budget motel quality than a beachfront...

'This is a horrible old property that is being offerred at exuburate prices. It has a motel feel. We tried 3 restaurants and all had horrible food. We ended up going across the street to Ilios for some good food, Luckily we were only there for one night. '
