'We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.'

'The Beach was closed. No one was permitted to use it. We were not given information on the property bus system so we didn’t know what time it started or ended. Many of the restaurants had no signs to say their name so we had to walk around the property and go into places to ask. Staff were asked people to buy things even when they were in the pool. Cups all over the pool area from guests leaving their trash. Our room was clean and the Spa was amazing.'
