The spa is perhaps the best on earth, the interior mangroves and boat rides to restaurants is such a cool experience. The rooms are literally on top of the water, private pools, AMAZING service... truly an experience that I hated to end!'

'Leider war Schlaf kaum möglich, da die ganze Nacht Bauarbeiten (laute Schleifarbeiten) am Nachbargebäude stattgefunden haben. Weiter ist das Wasser in der Dusche salzig und nicht warm. Wir sind daher einen Tag vorher angereist. Das Personal war wiederum sehr nett '

'Great property, amazing food, decent service.. after that downhill....We reserved the pool level suite, great room with amazing wildlife moving through it. Peaceful and serene! Bed on interior matched a sheet of plywood in comfort. A bike was used on property, when you could find one.. Property has amazing scenery, room service is an upcharge, couldnt find ice... oh well. Would stay here again for the food and scenery in same villa.. not for the service.'

'Lots of construction going on, which we understand is necessary, but the dining was a mess that week. Of the 4 main restaurants, most were closed they other night, some nights 3 of 4 were closed. Dunno if it was staffing issues or what, but definitely changed the experience. Thank goodness for 24 hr room service, which was ok overall but very slow, always an hour plus wait for dinner. '

'It’s a major flaw that the hotel does not have a transfer from the airport to the hotel. Secondly, the beaches were a complete mess and unfortunately did not have an opportunity to go into the water due to the seaweed so the trip was not as satisfactory as we had hoped.'

'We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels.'
